Your block tackles looked good today. Remember to stay balanced to recover, reset, and attack the next tackle or follow the movement if the attacker retreats.

Hanna, We loved the ball control when balancing the ball while moving, and we loved the control when you bent up and down or bounced the ball.

How To Improve

When working on the sweep, try to get your knuckles to the ground and bend your knees to perform a hip rotation instead of an arm-strength swing. Watch that your wrist, while rotating to add power, doesn’t turn over, so you roll over the ball instead of sweeping it through.

Hanna, we loved the control on your lifted pass and reception when it bounced back. Your knees were bent to absorb the ball. Well done.

How To Improve

Pull across to the left quickly on the Ramp ball and angle your stick slightly so the ball ramps onto the edge and over another stick near you. It is hard to adjust to the slight angle instead of stopping it to make a lift.

How To Improve

Make sure your arms come up on the aerial before you go out to get the ball in the air instead of pushing it out and not getting a full lift height.

Hanna, We loved the combination of the pullback, pull right, drift left to the over-under, and lift back left. Your footwork and ball control were tight.

How To Improve

On the fake, pass right to the drag left and catch with your left hand to an acceleration forward; ensure you drop into the fake and don’t lean over your right foot and have to make the pull just with your arms. You want to sink into the fake, so your body weight shifts and arms pull together to make the pull. This puts your balance where the pull ends and allows you to explode without taking more steps to set it up.

Hanna, We loved the V-drag and your shifts from an offensive to a defensive V-drag. You were low and protective on the defensive move and open and deceptive on the offensive V-drag.

How To Improve

Remember, the reverse shave tackle is a precision tackle to pull or direct the ball away from the offensive player. Left-hand knuckles to the ground and hook motion to the right or a pulling back motion, not a swing as if sweeping. The ball needs to be maneuvered into a space you control, not swatted out away or hacking the offensive player's stick.
